The Flashes Bounce Back Against South Dakota State

The Kent State men's basketball team bounced back from their two-game loss and extended their record to 6-2, and remain undefeated at home. The Flashes blew by South Dakota State in tonight's game 83-68.

The Golden Flashes got off to a hot start with stellar defense and the offense scoring at will. The Flashes made it look easy by opening the game with 11 points, leaving the Jack Rabbits scoreless. The Flashes never led by less than eight points in tonight's game.

Sincere Carry led the offense once again posting a game-high 23 points, shooting 60 percent from beyond the arch. The Flashes had nine of ten players score including four players in double digits. Sophomore Cli'Ron Hornbeak could not be stopped offensively or defensively posting a double-double of 10 rebounds and a single-game-high of 11 points.

It was a whole team effort with Coach Senderoff stating "We have a lot of balance and a lot of guys who can get the job done. Different guys on our roster have the capability to step up at different moments." The crowd saw that tonight as Jalen Sullinger came off the bench ready to step up posting 11 points, and shooting 75 percent from the three.

Malique Jacobs continues to work his way around the court recording 13 points and a game-high seven assists. The redshirt senior created opportunities not only for himself but for his whole team.

The Flashes as a whole were performing at a high level with 35 rebounds that created 20 second-chance points, outshooting the Jack Rabbits 50-27 percent from the field. The team looks ahead to a challenging road game against No. 14 Gonzaga.
