Sykes tweeted that she and her colleagues from the Democratic Women's Caucus and The Black Caucus "went to the House floor in unity to demand that Republicans remove Medicaid and SNAP cuts from their reconciliation bill." Emilia Sykes has served in Congress since 2023 after replacing Tim Ryan. Born in Akron, Ohio in 1986, she graduated from Kent State University with a BA and earned a JD from the University of Florida. Before her current role, she was part of the Ohio House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022.
