Emilia Strong Sykes, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 13th district, has been actively engaging with her constituents through social media updates. In a series of tweets, she addresses issues ranging from legislative benefits to local cultural celebrations and community events.

On June 3, 2025, Sykes informed her followers about the Social Security Fairness Act, which removed the Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset. She urged those owed increased benefits to contact her office if they had not yet received their lump sum payments.

Later that day, Sykes commemorated a significant milestone for a local icon. She tweeted a celebratory message marking the 100th birthday of the Goodyear Blimp, highlighting its status as a cultural symbol that connects Akron with global audiences.

On June 4, 2025, Sykes turned her attention to local sports by promoting an upcoming event on Twitter. She encouraged residents to enjoy the high school softball state championships taking place in Ohio’s 13th district from June 4-8. According to her tweet, two teams from her district are still competing, including Manchester High School participating in the Division V semifinals.

Emilia Sykes has represented Ohio's 13th District since succeeding Tim Ryan in 2023. Born in Akron in 1986 and holding degrees from Kent State University and the University of Florida, she continues to reside in Akron while fulfilling her congressional duties.
