Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, a U.S. Congress member representing Ohio’s 13th district since 2023, has been actively communicating her legislative priorities and initiatives through social media. Her recent posts address various regional developments and national concerns.

On May 13, 2025, Rep. Sykes expressed her commitment to bringing an Amtrak stop to the Akron-Canton region. She emphasized that such a development "would bring economic opportunity to our region and ensure that we are connected to the entire State of Ohio." She assured constituents that she "will not stop fighting to bring passenger rail to #OH13" (source).

Rep. Emilia Sykes was born in Akron, Ohio in 1986 and continues to reside there today at age 37. Before serving in Congress, she was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 2015 until her congressional election victory in 2022 over Tim Ryan's former seat.
