Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, currently serving Ohio’s 13th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared several updates on social media regarding a local art competition and changes to domestic travel requirements.
On May 6, Rep. Sykes congratulated Addelynn Ferguson from Portage Lakes Career Center for winning the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for Ohio's 13th District. Ferguson's artwork, titled "Lollipop," is a photograph of her grandmother, Annette, inspired by her grandmother's lively personality. The announcement can be viewed here.
In a subsequent post on the same day, Rep. Sykes informed that Ferguson’s piece will soon be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year. She also mentioned that all 46 pieces submitted to this year's competition are available for viewing at Summit ArtSpace until June 14. The full statement is accessible here.
The following day, on May 7, Rep. Sykes reminded constituents about new travel regulations requiring either a Real ID or passport for domestic flights within the United States starting immediately. She provided resources for obtaining a Real ID through a link shared in her post, which can be found here.
Rep. Emilia Sykes has been serving in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Tim Ryan and previously held office in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022.
