Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, who represents Ohio’s 13th district in the U.S. Congress, has shared several insights and messages on social media, reflecting both cultural celebrations and political engagements. Sykes, having replaced Tim Ryan in 2023, has also been an active voice in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Born in Akron in 1986, she holds degrees from Kent State University and the University of Florida.

In a message shared on April 13, 2025, Sykes wished her constituents celebrating Passover a meaningful holiday. She tweeted, "Chag Pesach Sameach to all celebrating in #OH13! As people across the world gather with their loved ones around the Seder table, may we be inspired by the strength of the Jewish people and their millennia-long fight for freedom. Rep. Sykes was honored to recently join Temple".

The following day, on April 14, 2025, Sykes announced an event where she, alongside the Akron NAACP and other local leaders, would discuss the implications of Project 2025 for Ohio's 13th district. She stated, "Join Rep. Sykes, the Akron NAACP, and other local leaders tomorrow in Akron for an event about the implications of Project 2025 and how the plan will effect #OH13."

On the evening of April 14, Sykes conveyed her good wishes to those celebrating Vaisakhi, a significant festival. Her tweet expressed, "Wishing all Ohioans a cheerful and abundant Vaisakhi during this celebration of faith and new beginnings!"

Sykes, a native of Akron, continues to be a prominent figure for OH13. Her educational background includes a BA from Kent State University and a JD from the University of Florida, underlining her commitment to public service and community engagement.
