Rep. Sykes discusses tax day, tariffs, and reintroduces the INFANTS Act

Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, currently representing Ohio’s 13th district in the U.S. Congress, used her platform on social media to address various pressing issues, ranging from tax deadlines to legislative efforts and public discussions. Below is an overview of her recent communications.

On April 9th, 2025, Rep. Sykes reminded constituents that Tax Day is approaching. She emphasized the importance of filing taxes by April 15, providing a link for more information: "Don’t forget! Tax Day is one week away, so make sure to file your taxes on or before April 15. Learn more about how to file at https://t.co/neMFZVRFnw."

Later on the same day, she invited the public to a discussion on Instagram Live regarding tariffs implemented by the Trump administration. The session was scheduled for noon: "Join Rep. Sykes TODAY at noon for the WTF Show on Instagram Live to discuss the Trump administration’s recently enacted tariffs and how they affect you."

Lastly, Rep. Sykes announced the reintroduction of the INFANTS Act. This proposal seeks to mandate nutritional testing for baby formula to prevent contamination, in coordination with the Department of Health and Human Services and the FDA: "Rep. Sykes reintroduced the INFANTS Act to require nutrition testing for baby formula that will keep babies safe and healthy. The bill would codify the actions of HHS and FDA to ensure baby food is not contaminated."
