Emilia Strong Sykes, who is currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 13th district, has recently shared a series of tweets highlighting key issues. One tweet criticizes the Social Security Administration's policy on withholding benefits, another expresses support for a local baseball team, and a third tweet emphasizes the importance of Medicaid.

On April 8, 2025, Rep. Sykes tweeted, "The Social Security Administration announced it will begin withholding 100% of your monthly benefits, even if the Administration mistakenly overpaid you. Taking away 100% of someone's income for a mistake they had no part in, after they worked their whole life, is cruel and..."

Later that day, she posted another tweet, expressing her well wishes for the local baseball team: "Best of luck to the @AkronRubberDuck tonight for the home opener, as they take on the Altoona Curve! Rep. Sykes will be cheering on the Ducks all season long."

In a separate tweet, posted in the same timeframe, Rep. Sykes emphasized her support for Medicaid during National Public Health Week. She wrote, "Rep. Sykes will always stand up for Medicaid. This vital program not only ensures that some of our community’s most vulnerable can receive health care, it also is an important funding source for our community’s largest employer – health care systems."
