Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing Ohio’s 13th district, has shared a series of tweets addressing a range of topics pertinent to her constituents and personal advocacy efforts. Sykes has been an active figure since assuming her role in U.S. Congress in 2023, following a tenure in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022.

On April 4, 2025, Rep. Sykes commented on the current administration's trade policies, emphasizing the need for a more strategic approach to tariff implementation. She remarked that the strategy observed thus far has lacked focus and consistency. "We need trade policy with a firm, strategic approach to tariff implementation, and the strategy that we’ve seen from this administration has not been focused or consistent."

The following day, April 5, 2025, Sykes highlighted her ongoing efforts to secure $38.1 million in funding for Ohio’s 13th district, which had been eliminated by a Republican funding bill. Also on April 5, 2025, Sykes announced Akron's nomination among the 20 finalists for the National Civic League All-America City Award.
