Stark State College is accepting applications until Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. for its next full-time law enforcement academy, which runs Jan. 17-July 15.
Classes in this academy are scheduled Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and occasional Saturdays and Sundays. Students must enroll in each semester’s courses concurrently.
Financial aid is available for those who qualify.
The intensive program, operated in cooperation with the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, prepares participants to pursue one of many careers in law enforcement, including municipal, township or village police officer; deputy sheriff; state wildlife officer and other law enforcement positions.
All instructors are certified by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission.
Graduates of the academy program are eligible to take the Ohio Basic Peace Officer Certification examination.
