69 percent of applicants to the University of Akron Main Campus were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of Akron Main Campus, 88 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 53 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Akron enrolled 18,731 students in fall 2018, including 15,634 in undergraduate and 3,097 in graduate programs, data shows. 3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

93 percent of undergraduates are residents of Ohio, and 5 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (74 percent) and Black or African American (11 percent).

The school admitted 69 percent of the 16,088 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 25 percent enrolled.
