Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, U.S. Congresswoman representing Ohio’s 13th district since 2023, has recently posted a series of messages on social media highlighting community engagement and policy concerns.
On August 23, Sykes posted a message celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride in her district: "Happy Pride #OH13! https://t.co/5sWgpucA13".
Two days later, on August 25, she invited constituents to participate in a public discussion focused on government accountability: "Join Rep. Sykes TOMORROW, Tuesday, August 26 in Canton for a Community Conversation focused on anti-corruption. Rep. Later the same day, Sykes addressed the potential impact of reductions to food assistance programs in Ohio: "Cuts to hunger and nutrition programs will be devastating to Ohio, a state that thrives on agriculture. https://t.co/EQFXKvlnhX".
Sykes has represented Ohio’s 13th congressional district since replacing Tim Ryan in 2023 and previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Born and residing in Akron, she is an alumna of Kent State University and holds a law degree from the University of Florida.
