Sykes has served as U.S. Representative since 2023 after succeeding Tim Ryan and previously represented her community in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. She was born in Akron in 1986 and continues to reside there today while serving her district at the federal level.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida.
