Emilia Strong Sykes addresses housing costs, CHIPS Act anniversary, and anti-corruption event

Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, who represents Ohio’s 13th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed issues ranging from housing affordability to federal economic policy and anti-corruption efforts through a series of posts on her social media account.

On August 9, 2025, Rep. Sykes highlighted the challenges facing Ohio residents due to rising home prices: "With home prices reaching record highs, many Ohioans are struggling to afford homeownership and some are being priced out of the neighborhoods they’ve lived in all of their lives. Sykes has served as U.S. Representative since 2023 after succeeding Tim Ryan and previously represented her community in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. She was born in Akron in 1986 and continues to reside there today while serving her district at the federal level.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida.
