Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 13th district, shared recent announcements and engagements via a series of tweets in late April 2025. Emilia Sykes, who replaced former U.S. Congress member Tim Ryan in 2023, has served in Congress since 2023 following her tenure in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022.

On April 29, Sykes expressed the honor of nominating students from Ohio’s 13th district for attendance at a U.S. Military Service Academy. She announced, "the deadline to submit applications for a nomination for the Class of 2030 will be October 17, 2025." Constituents were encouraged to contact her office for further information.

During a later announcement on April 29, Rep. Sykes highlighted her commitment to offering "dedicated, personalized support" to those in need of assistance with federal agencies. She stressed that her team is ready to help residents in Ohio's 13th district and provided contact details for her office to facilitate assistance.

On April 30, Rep. Sykes invited constituents to join her on Instagram Live for a discussion on the federal budget process. She expressed concern over potential cuts proposed by Republicans, noting the adverse impact on Ohioans. In her words, "Republicans are trying to make harmful cuts that will hurt Ohioans."

Emilia Sykes, born in Akron, Ohio, in 1986, resides in the city and brings years of experience from her previous role in the Ohio House of Representatives. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Kent State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida.
