On November 21, 2024, Rep. Sykes announced that "This week, the House passed a bill to make our nation's passport processing system more efficient." She noted her efforts since taking office to assist over 200 constituents with timely passport procurement and invited those needing assistance to reach out.

The following day, on November 22, 2024, she expressed her condolences for the loss of an esteemed colleague by stating "Rep. Sykes is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ohio Sen.
