Today, Akron Ward 1 Councilwoman Nancy Holland submitted her resignation to Akron City Council. Mayor Shammas Malik has released the following statement:
“I thank Councilwoman Nancy Holland for her outstanding and exemplary public service to the City of Akron. I've known Nancy for many years, long before our time on City Council. As a student at Firestone High School, she was a coach and mentor and during my time on Council she has been a colleague and close friend. She has given so much of her time, energy, strength, and heart to Ward 1 and the city, and we are all better off for it.”
