5.7% of citizens unemployed in Summit County in 2021

Summit County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.7% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 16,234 people out of the 540,567 living in Summit County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Summit County has decreased compared to the 5.8% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Summit County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 269,848 people who had a job during that time, 398 were employed in the Armed Forces and 269,450 belonged to the civilian labor force.
