WASHINGTON, D.C. — On June 29, U.S. Representative Emilia Strong Sykes (OH-13) issued the following statement on the Supreme Court’s ruling in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard and UNC:

“All students in Ohio’s 13th Congressional District and across the nation deserve the opportunity to receive a quality education, regardless of their income, where they grew up, or their racial or ethnic background. The Supreme Court’s ruling today rolls back much of the hard-fought progress our country has made to break down systemic barriers and ensure all those seeking an education have an equal opportunity to the diverse, comprehensive instruction they deserve. Though this decision is a disappointing reversal, we will not stop fighting until every student has the opportunity to thrive and achieve their full potential,” said Rep. Sykes.
