January 11th is Human Trafficking Awareness Day, a sad reminder of a scourge of drug, labor, and sex trafficking that plagues our nation, and in particular our region here in northern Ohio.
Our Office is proud to head up the Summit Regional Human Trafficking Task Force. Now in its second year of operation, this multi-agency Task Force serves Summit, Stark, Medina, and Portage Counties, and partners with Canton-based Rahab Ministries to provide support to victims. The Task Force has executed 26 operations over the past two years, resulting in over 100 arrests and nearly 150 victims assisted.
