Overnight Fire on Hudson Drive Claims One Life | City of Hudson (https://s3.amazonaws.com/jnswire/jns-media/82/ac/12043300/1.png)
The Hudson Fire Department fought a fire on Hudson Drive last night in the overnight hours which claimed the life of a 76-year-old male.
At 21:57 hours, HFD received a call about the smell of burning plastic several blocks from the scene of the fire. Finding no fire near that location, HFD and HPD searched farther away and located the fire on Hudson Drive. The fire started in the basement of the home. Firefighters found the victim inside the home and Hudson EMS transported him to Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Twenty-two Hudson firefighters, along with members of the Hudson Police and Hudson EMS were on scene. In addition, four members of the Stow Fire Department, four from Twinsburg Fire, and three from Valley Fire helped extinguish the fire.
The fire is currently under investigation.
