Arrest Made in May 12th Crash

On May 12, 2022, at approximately 6:55 a.m., the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and Summit Metro Crash Response Team responded to a crash on Interstate 77 north in the City of Green. A 64-year-old ODOT employee was parked on the berm to remove debris from the roadway. A 51-year-old male, identified as Gregory Pree was traveling north on Interstate 77 in a commercial dump truck. Pree left his lane of travel and struck the ODOT vehicle. The ODOT employee was seated inside the vehicle. Both vehicles burst into flames. Both drivers were transported to area hospitals for their injuries. 

After completing the investigation, Gregory Pree was found to be operating the vehicle under the influence of illegal drugs. Pree was also operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license. Warrants were obtained for charges of Aggravated Vehicular Assault (F-2) and Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence (M-1). 

Gregory Pree was arrested and transported to the Summit County Jail.
