City of Green Accepting Applications for its Spring 2023 Green Community Leadership Initiative Class

The City of Green is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2023 Green Community Leadership Initiative Class.  The in-depth leadership program focused on Green, Ohio, is designed for business and community leaders who are interested in learning more about the community where they live, work and play.

The six-session program, held February 2023 through May 2023, will address topics to stimulate a broader understanding of the social, economic, policy and environmental issues impacting the community, as well as provide participants an avenue to become more engaged and shape its future.

Through the engaging classes, participants will become connected and more engaged in the community, learn more about civic organizations and the issues they face, and develop an understanding about how public policy is developed and implemented. In addition, the class creates numerous opportunities to network with city and community leaders and peers.

“Community is more than just a place. It’s the people who make it unique. When civic-minded individuals come together with a common purpose, to improve their community, they all flourish,” said Gerard Neugebauer, mayor, City of Green. “The Green Community Leadership Initiative is designed to help you become more engaged, so together we can build a better community.”

The program includes two full-day sessions as opening and closing sessions with 4 half-day sessions focused on community health and safety, community and economic development, quality of life, and workforce and education.

The first Green Community Leadership class graduated from the program in 2018 and the second class in 2021. In total, more than 35 participants have completed the program.  Following the completion of the program, each class completes a class project that benefits the community.

The class participation fee is $500.  Up to 20 applicants will be accepted into the 2023 class.  Applicants must live or work at a business in Green.

Applications are due by October 31, 2022. To learn more about the program or to register, visit cityofgreen.org/leadership
