This Memorial Day, the City of Green offers a full day of fun to residents! There is a free Pancake Breakfast from 7-10 am, followed by the Memorial Day Parade which begins at Green High School, 1474 Boettler Rd. The festivities continue at 12 pm for the Memorial Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park, with the Car Show and Picnic immediately after. Festivities conclude at 3 pm.

Pancake Breakfast:

Please come join us this Memorial Day, May 30, for our annual pancake breakfast. Members of the fire department will be cooking up pancakes and sausage, generously donated by our local Giant Eagle. Juice and coffee will also be provided. The Pancake Breakfast will run from 7 am to 10 am at Fire Station #1, 4200 Massillon Rd. The breakfast is free, though donations are appreciated as 100% of the profits go to Green Good Neighbors, a local non-profit.

Parade:

The Memorial Day Parade begins at Green High School, 1474 Boettler Rd, at 10 am, travels east on Boettler Rd to Massillon Rd S (southbound lanes only), then onto Steese Rd W to Green Intermediate School. Lastly, the parade will make its way back to Green High School via Bulldog Blvd. If you wish to enter the parade, please see our information letter here.

Ceremony:

There will be a short ceremony after the parade at Veterans Memorial Park, 1900 Steese Rd, starting at 12 pm which is followed by a Car Show and picnic!  The ceremony will both remember our fallen heroes and honor our veterans. Two local veterans will be recognized by Mayor Neugebauer and the Green community. This Memorial Day we recognize and thank our very own heroes, Lt. Col. Colleen VanNatta of the U.S. Air Force, and Lt. Col. Tony Santucci of the U.S. Air Force.

Parking:

Parking is available at the Fire Station #1 (handicap parking only), John Torok Senior/Community Center, Queen of Heaven Church, and the Anthony Funeral Home. Please note Steese Road will be shut down to traffic during the Memorial Ceremony.
