Engineer’s Report to Council May 2nd regarding the Petition for Sidewalks on Rosemont Blvd.

Road

Dear Residents:

I received the City Engineer’s report to Council addressing the results of his meetings with the residents in the affected area.  I will present the Engineer’s report to City Council on May 2, 2022 as set forth in the City’s Sidewalk Petition Procedure.

As outlined in the Petition Procedure, residents in the affected area can do any of the following if they so desire no later than ten calendar days from the date Council accepts the Engineer’s report.

  • Those who have not previously signed the petition to install sidewalks but now wish to do so may sign a subsequent petition for sidewalks as provided in the Petition Procedures.
  •  Those who originally signed the petition to install sidewalks may withdraw their signature by delivering a signed, notarized letter to the Clerk of Council requesting their signature be removed.
  • Those who have not signed a petition for sidewalks may submit a Petition in Opposition to Sidewalks to the Clerk of Council as provided in the Petition Procedure.  (Signing a petition in opposition to sidewalks will not remove a signature from an earlier petition).
Once the ten days have passed, another mailing will go out notifying all residents in the affected area of my report to Council as to whether there are a sufficient number of signatures for the installation of sidewalks; I will submit a resolution to Council to accept the petition(s).

If Council adopts the resolution, they will direct the City Engineer to prepare plans, specifications, and an estimate so that the sidewalk project may be put out for bidding.
