City of Hudson issued the following announcement on Feb. 25

The Akron Metropolitan Area Transportation Study (AMATS) has awarded Hudson more than $4.6 million in funding for local highway, resurfacing, adaptive traffic signals, and bike/pedestrian projects in 2022.

A Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) of $400,142 was awarded for Hudson’s SR 91 and Terex Road Turn Lane Improvements project. The project, located at the intersection of SR 91 and Terex Road, involves improvements to the intersection including improvements to the left-turn lanes along Terex Road from 750 feet west to 300 feet east of SR 91.

AMATS also awarded funding for two resurfacing projects:

• Valley View Road from the Hudson North Corporate Line to SR 91 ($787,500).
• East Barlow Road from the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks at Little Tikes to Stow Road ($439,744).

Funding of $700,000 was awarded through a Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) for Veteran’s Trail Rails to Trails for a 10-foot trail along the existing railroad line at Barlow Road in Hudson to Springdale Road in Stow.

Lastly, AMATS also awarded Hudson $2,316,939 for the Downtown Hudson Adaptive Signal Improvements project.

These improvements will greatly enhance the City’s ability to improve infrastructure, traffic, and expand bike/hike trails in Hudson.
