On March 19, 2025, Rep. Sykes emphasized the importance of quality public education for developing future professionals such as engineers and entrepreneurs. She expressed her commitment to supporting the U.S. Department of Education's efforts in ensuring good education for all students, stating: "Students need high quality public education to become the next generation of engineers, mathematicians, entrepreneurs, tradesmen, and more."
In another tweet dated March 20, 2025, she highlighted her engagement with constituents from Ohio's 13th district during a Community Conversation event. Rep. Sykes reaffirmed her dedication to representing her district in Washington by stating: "Rep. Additionally, on March 20, 2025, Rep. Sykes paid tribute to Renee Powell for breaking barriers as one of the first Black women in the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). Powell's journey began in Canton and continued at Ohio State University under her father William's guidance: "Renee Powell broke barriers as one of the first Black women to play in the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA)."
