Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio’s 13th district, has recently shared several updates via social media regarding her activities and initiatives. Born in Akron, Ohio, and having served in various legislative roles since 2015, Rep. Sykes continues to focus on community engagement and local advancements.

On March 17, 2025, Rep. Sykes invited constituents to a "Community Conversation" event with State Senator Casey Weinstein in Akron. The event aims to provide updates on federal and state budgets. Additionally, Rep. Sykes will discuss efforts to lower costs and protect Medicaid programs for the community "Join Rep. Later that day, she congratulated the University of Akron's men's basketball team for their achievement: "Congrats to the @ZipsMBB for back-to-back MAC Tournament Championships!"
