Emilia Strong Sykes, a U.S. Congress representative for Ohio’s 13th district, has shared insights into her ongoing initiatives and challenges faced in her district through recent social media posts. These posts highlight her commitment to local projects and the impact of federal budget decisions on her community.

On March 13, 2025, Rep. Sykes emphasized the significance of Cuyahoga Valley National Park to local communities in Ohio's 13th district. She stated that "#OH13 supports Cuyahoga Valley National Park because it is so intertwined with our local communities. When the park thrives, our local governments, small businesses, and entrepreneurs thrive."

Later that day, she addressed funding concerns related to local projects. Sykes noted that she had worked to secure $38.1 million for such initiatives but expressed frustration over cuts made by a Republican funding bill. She wrote: "Rep. Sykes fought to bring back $38.1 million of your tax dollars to #OH13 for local projects. The Republican funding bill cut them all. With the support of local communities throughout #OH13 we found projects to lower costs and keep our community safe."

In another post from March 13, Rep. Sykes invited constituents to join her on Instagram Live at 5 p.m. for a discussion on housing impacts stemming from the Republicans' budget proposal: "Join Rep. Sykes TODAY at 5 p.m. for the WTF Show on Instagram Live to discuss the impacts of the Republicans' budget proposal on housing."
