Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio’s 13th district, shared a series of updates on her official social media account regarding local recognition, an upcoming national event, and legislative progress.

On December 9, 2024, Rep. Sykes extended her congratulations to Kendra Santiago for being named the "#OH13 Champion of the Week." In her post, she noted that last month, while working as a delivery worker, Santiago saved a man's life in Akron. She described Santiago as "a shining example of why our district is known as the 'Birthplace of Champions.'" The original tweet can be accessed here.

On December 10, 2024, Rep. Sykes informed constituents about the opportunity to attend the 2025 Presidential Inauguration. She advised those interested to contact her office by December 13 to enter a lottery for tickets that will be awarded on December 16. Details are available in her original post here.

Later on December 10, Rep. Sykes announced the passage of a bill by the House to name U.S. Route 20 the National Medal of Honor Highway. This designation honors recipients of the nation's highest award for valor and acknowledges contributions from Americans including 331 Ohioans who have received it. More information can be found in her original message here.
