Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio’s 13th district, has recently shared several updates on her social media account regarding her activities and initiatives. Sykes, who succeeded Tim Ryan in 2023, has been active in both commemorative and legislative endeavors.

On December 7, 2024, Rep. Sykes posted a message honoring Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day: "On Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we remember and mourn the 2,403 servicemembers and civilians who died. 83 years later, we will never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice that day."

Later that day, she highlighted her ongoing work in Washington D.C., inviting constituents to stay informed through her newsletter: "Rep. Sykes was busy in Washington D.C. this week working for you. Subscribe to our newsletter at https://t.co/pAEf7GdsPN to receive the full update each week."

On December 9, 2024, Rep. Sykes announced securing significant funding for a local initiative: "Rep. Sykes secured $500,000 for the Stark County Family Justice Center. These funds will further cement a relationship between the Stark County Prosecutor’s Office and the Domestic Violence Project, Inc., and help create safer communities."
