Barberton City Council approved two pieces of legislation March 13 authorizing Mayor William Judge to apply for $1.7 million in federal funding for connectivity-related projects in the city.

According to the mayor, the city will apply for $700,000 in funding for a planned sidewalk new installation and repairs in neighborhoods near schools and for $1 million in funding for a project to connect a planned east-west Summit County Metro Parks Towpath Trail corridor to Lake Anna.
