The Kent State field hockey team had four student-athletes total nine postseason conference honors, as announced by the Mid-American Conference this morning.

A Golden Flash was named Defensive Player of the Year for the second season in a row, as senior Maria Cambra Soler was selected for the award. Patricia Strunk was honored with Co-Freshman of the Year. Both players received All-MAC First Team recognition. Freshman Iris Bekker and Maia Sarrabayrouse were named All-MAC Second Team. Bekker, Sarrabayrouse, and Strunk also received All-MAC Freshman Team selection.

Cambra Soler received her third All-MAC honor and second straight first-team selection. She recorded 15 points this season, including six goals and three assists. She was tied for fourth in the conference with a pair of defensive saves. During league play, she ranked third in points (14) and tied for third in goals (6).

Strunk led the Flashes with 17 points and started in all 17 matches this season. She ranked in the top 10 for the conference in goals (7) and shots on goal (29). In contests against MAC opponents, Strunk was tied for third overall, and tied for first among freshmen, with 13 points and six goals.
