Green Fire Division Promotes Benjamin Poole and Matthew Micozzi to Fire Lieutenants

The City of Green’s Fire Division is pleased to announce the promotions of Benjamin Poole and Matthew Micozzi to the position of Fire Lieutenant.   

Poole began with the City of Green as a part-time Firemedic in 2012 and became full-time in 2015. He has acquired several certifications throughout his career. Poole is a certified Public Safety Diver and a member of the Summit County Water Rescue Team. He also completed Rope Rescue Level II. Poole is also a Fire Instructor at the University of Akron. 

Micozzi started as a Firemedic at Green Fire in January of 2003. With over 21 years as a full-time professional firefighter medic, Micozzi’s experience and certifications include: Firefighter Level II, HazMat team member, former TROT team member, HazMat Safety Officer Training, Firefighter Safety and Survival on the Fireground Certification, Traffic Incident Management, Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) Certification, Multiple Emergency Vehicle Operation Certifications, Confined Space Entry, and he is a former member of the Summit County Technical Rescue Operations Team. 

Both new Lieutenants have been assigned to a response shift where they are responsible for supervising the Fire and Emergency Medical Responses.
