City of Green issued the following announcement on March 8

The City of Green has recently been recognized by Disabled American Veterans (DAV) as a DAV Patriot Employer. Being recognized as a Patriot Employer is a service to veterans because it encourages others to follow the City’s lead and hire more of our nation’s heroes.

DAV is a nonprofit charity that provides a lifetime of support for veterans of all generations and their families. These veterans and their families receive this assistance at no cost. DAV helped over 1 million veterans last year by providing rides to medical appointments, assistance with filing claims, and more. In 2021 alone, over $25 billion was received in earned benefits for DAV-represented veterans.

DAV is a leader in connecting veterans with employment. Their mission is to ensure that all veterans, especially disabled veterans, secure meaningful employment. They host job fairs, provide resources that give veteran the opportunity to live the “American Dream” they fought for. It is important to the City of Green and DAV to empower our veterans and their families by fulfilling the promises made to them by our nation.
