Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, who represents Ohio’s 13th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of updates on her social media accounts highlighting events and initiatives relevant to her constituents.

On September 17, 2025, Rep. Sykes marked National App Challenge Day by encouraging young coders in her district to participate in a national competition: "Today we celebrate #NationalAppChallengeDay! Rep. Sykes encourages all young coders in #OH13 to submit their innovative apps by October 30. The Congressional App Challenge is your chance to shine and contribute to the future of technology! #Congress4CS https://t.co/2uALB3hpvq"

The following day, she acknowledged the anniversary of the U.S. Air Force with a message recognizing its service members: "The U.S. Air Force turns 78 today! The Air Force plays an integral role in ensuring our national security. Today, we honor the brave servicemembers who have devoted their lives to protect our freedoms. https://t.co/CyUJl2IGw5" (September 18, 2025).

Later that same day, Rep. Sykes invited followers to join her and Rep. Underwood for a discussion on healthcare policy: "Join Rep. Emilia Sykes has represented Ohio’s 13th District since replacing Tim Ryan in Congress in 2023 and previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2015 through 2022. Born in Akron, Ohio in 1986, she continues to reside there and holds degrees from Kent State University and the University of Florida.
