Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 13th district, recently shared her thoughts on various topics through social media posts. Her tweets reflect both celebratory and advocacy-focused messages.
On January 21, Rep. Sykes expressed pride in Ohio State University's football team by congratulating them for winning the College Football National Championship. She stated, "Congratulations to THE Ohio State Buckeyes for bringing the College Football National Champions title back to Ohio! @OhioStateFB has made our entire state proud with this victory."
The following day, January 22, she invited constituents to an event at the Cuyahoga Falls Library scheduled for January 29. In her post, she encouraged community members to meet with one of her Constituent Advocates regarding assistance with federal agencies and requested RSVPs from those planning to attend: "Join Team Sykes on January 29 at the Cuyahoga Falls Library to talk with one of our Constituent Advocates about how we can help you with a federal agency."
Later that same day, Rep. Sykes addressed women's reproductive rights in light of changes since Roe v. Wade was overturned over two years ago. She voiced concern over women being denied care and emphasized the need to continue advocating for reproductive healthcare rights: "Today marks what should be the 52nd anniversary of Roe v. Wade... We must keep fighting to restore Roe."
