The Malik administration continues to fill out with more key appointments. Today, Mayor Malik is announcing Suzie Graham Moore is joining the administration in the role of Director of Economic Development and Sean Vollman is staying on as Deputy Director of Economic Development. Kyle Julien is coming in as the new Director of Planning and LaTonda Mobley will remain as Great Streets Administrator.
Today, the Akron Bicentennial Commission and Mayor Shammas Malik are announcing that the Commission is forming a not-for-profit corporation, ‘Akron200 Inc.,’ in order to receive funds and distribute grants to neighborhood groups that are planning celebrations as part of Akron’s Bicentennial. After consultation with the Mayor, the Commission has appointed Mark Greer as Executive Director to implement plans for the city’s 200th anniversary.
This morning, Mayor Shammas Malik is announcing additional key appointments to his Cabinet and administration. Deborah Matz is joining as Director of Law beginning Jan. 16 while Brian Angeloni and Michael Defibaugh are being promoted to Deputy Law Directors. Angeloni will fill the role of Acting Director of Law until Matz begins, and Defibaugh will be Acting Director of Human Resources (HR) until that position is filled. Mayor Malik is also welcoming Lauren Marsh from the Together for Akron transition team as Assistant to the Chief of Staff, and Chief Natko is continuing in his current role as head of the Akron Fire Department.
