Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, U.S. Congresswoman representing Ohio’s 13th district since 2023, has used her social media platform to address constituent services and express opposition to the SAVE America Act in a series of recent posts.

On February 10, 2026, Sykes encouraged constituents to reach out for help with federal agencies, stating, “Rep. Sykes and her team are here to make sure that our government is working for you. Contact our office today at https://t.co/pAEf7Ge0Fl if you need assistance with any federal agency.”

The following day, she criticized the SAVE America Act, writing on February 11, 2026: “The SAVE America Act is not about election integrity. It’s about voter suppression.

The law would require the 70 million women who changed their name after getting married to either pay $165 for a passport to prove their citizenship, or jump through burdensome hoops, just to be”.

Later that same day, Sykes reiterated her concerns regarding the legislation: “The SAVE Act is designed to repress the votes of women, people of color, young folks, and the disabled. It’s voter suppression poorly dressed up as election integrity.”

Sykes has represented Ohio’s 13th District in Congress since succeeding Tim Ryan in 2023. Prior to her current role in Washington D.C., she served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2015 until 2022. Born in Akron in 1986 and currently residing there at age 37, Sykes holds a BA from Kent State University and a JD from the University of Florida.
