Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes, who represents Ohio’s 13th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on April 1, 2026, addressing space exploration, the Jewish holiday of Passover, and the approaching tax deadline.
In her first post of the day, Sykes marked a significant milestone in space travel: “Today, Artemis II lifts off, marking humanity’s next giant step toward the Moon and beyond. In an evening message on April 1st, Sykes reminded constituents about tax filing deadlines: “Don’t forget! Tax Day is two weeks away, so make sure to file your taxes on or before April 15. Sykes has served as Ohio’s representative in Congress since replacing Tim Ryan in 2023. Before joining Congress, she was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022. Born in Akron in 1986 and currently residing there at age 37, Sykes holds degrees from Kent State University and the University of Florida.
