U.S. Representative Emilia Strong Sykes, who has represented Ohio’s 13th district in Congress since 2023 after serving in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022, recently shared several updates and messages with her constituents via social media.
On February 16, Sykes offered support for a local athlete competing on the international stage: “Good luck to #OH13 native Kyra Drossa, who will compete in tomorrow’s qualifying run in women’s aerial skiing at the 2026 Winter Olympics! The following day, February 17, she extended holiday greetings related to Lunar New Year: “The Year of the Horse brings auspicious tidings – it’s a time for new beginnings, bold action, and change. Later that same day, Sykes invited residents to engage with her directly at an upcoming event: “Join Rep. Sykes was born in Akron in 1986 and continues to reside there today. She holds degrees from Kent State University (BA) and the University of Florida (JD).
