U.S. Representative Emilia Strong Sykes, who has represented Ohio’s 13th district in Congress since 2023 after serving in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2015 to 2022, recently shared several updates and messages with her constituents via social media.

On February 16, Sykes offered support for a local athlete competing on the international stage: “Good luck to #OH13 native Kyra Drossa, who will compete in tomorrow’s qualifying run in women’s aerial skiing at the 2026 Winter Olympics! Our whole community will be cheering you on. Just three years into competitive aerial skiing, Kyra has become a top-tier competitor on the https://t.co/IR9wWLTYAL”.

The following day, February 17, she extended holiday greetings related to Lunar New Year: “The Year of the Horse brings auspicious tidings – it’s a time for new beginnings, bold action, and change. Rep. Sykes wishes everyone in #OH13 and around the world a happy Lunar New Year! https://t.co/EiXqkQWTd1”.

Later that same day, Sykes invited residents to engage with her directly at an upcoming event: “Join Rep. Sykes for a Community Conversation in Twinsburg to discuss her priorities in Congress, including lowering costs, fighting government corruption, protecting your hard-earned benefits, and keeping our communities safe. Sykes was born in Akron in 1986 and continues to reside there today. She holds degrees from Kent State University (BA) and the University of Florida (JD).
